 It is believed that consumption of the leaves helps lower the blood glucose levels, and diabetics who consumed the leaves of this plant report a fall in their blood glucose levels.Its anti-diabetic effect of the plant is a winner.The diabetes patients have to chew down the Insulin plants leaves for a month.That is the patient has to take two leaves per day in the morning and evening for one week. Growing :Costus igneus grows in either full sun or partial shade. It needs fertile soil, with plenty of moisture. Due to these requirements, it is often required to plant near water.
